The Tasmanian BBQ Society was formed to promote all things BBQ in Tasmania. Being a not for profit organisation means every penny the TBBQS earns goes back in to Tasmanian BBQ.
As a formal sanctioning body the TBBQS oversees and implements operational procedures for BBQ competitions in Tasmania.
We are keen to work with BBQ retailers, Butchers, Producers, Craft Brewers and Musicians to bring together great Tasmanian products and provide a portal for BBQ enthusiasts to connect with the greater BBQ community

In 2018 the Tasmanian BBQ Society will be holding a series of Junior competitions to make TBBQS events more family friendly and to give the kids a go!
The goal of the Junior series is to educate and hand down knowledge to the next generation of Pit Masters. We intend to do this by simplifying the process of assisting both parents and children in getting involved in competition BBQ by offering free entry and supplying ingredients.
All entrants must be aged 16 or under.
Are you Tasmania’s King of the Kettle?
The King of the Kettle series has been devised to give all levels of BBq’ers a go. Cook’s will be tasked to BBQ Chicken, Lamb, Beef, Pork Ribs and Desert on a charcoal or wood fired kettle and submit them for judging throughout the course of the day.
To keep the competitors on their toes each competition will include a mystery ingredient. The ingredient will be different for each of the competitions in the 2018 series.
We’ve also made a few changes to the 2018 series which will ensure an extremely competitive cook off.
